He is an assistant professor in the Post Graduate Department of Economics, University of Kashmir. His teaching interests include microeconomics, development economics, and the Indian economy. His research focuses on the capability approach and human development, with particular interest in gender and AI. His work is particularly concerned with understanding development through the norms of equity, dignity, and social justice. Prior to joining the University of Kashmir, he served as a lecturer (academic arrangement) in the Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
