Tentative Title of PhD:  The Rising Dominance of India's Service Sector Challenges and Opportunities in Employment and Digitalization.

Abstract: The service sector has emerged as a stabilizing force in India, contributing more than half of the country’s GVA and linking economic growth, employment, urbanization, and state-level convergence. This study examines the growing dominance of the services sector, focusing on its contribution to GVA, employment, and trade, and comparing India’s trajectory with global trends. It evaluates whether service-led growth has been output-intensive or employment-intensive, while assessing the impact of digitalization, AI, and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) on productivity, trade, and employment. The study also explores rural-urban disparities, gender dimensions, and income inequalities within the sector.
