Title of PhD Topic; Dynamics of Trade, Environment and Sustainable Development in India: An Empirical Analysis

Abstract;

The study seeks to explore the broader implications of trade on the environment.  it aims to explore how diversified imports ranging from energy-intensive goods to green technologies affect India’s ecological footprint and environmental outcomes. Moreover, this study will focus on the understanding the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and environmental regulations, especially in context of whether India’s trade policies have led to a "race to the bottom" or they encourage sustainable development practices. Additionally, this study will focus on how trade activities and patterns influence India’s progress towards achieving selected Sustainable Development Goals. This research will provide an inclusive analysis of the interaction of trade, import diversification, FDI, and environmental sustainability in India.
