Title of Ph.D. Topic: “An Empirical Analysis of Factors Associated with Out-of-Pocket Health Care Expenditure: A Cross-Country Study”

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Out-of-Pocket (OOP) health expenditure and health outcomes, the impact of macroeconomic and socio-demographic factors, and the role of health financing systems in mitigating OOP expenditure across 160 countries. Using panel data from 2000 to 2021, sourced from WHO, the World Bank, and the IMF, the study analyzes variations across income groups. By incorporating factors like GDP growth, inflation, unemployment, and health indicators, it offers insights into the macroeconomic dimensions of OOP expenditure. The findings will inform policies to improve healthcare financing and accessibility, contributing to better health outcomes globally.
