Title of Ph.d Topic: Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, and Economic Development in Jammu and Kashmir: An Empirical Assessment.

Abstract: The study examines the relationship between public expenditure, infrastructure, and economic development in Jammu and Kashmir. It aims to assess inter-district disparities in infrastructure, the impact of infrastructure development on economic growth, and the role of sectoral public expenditure. Using data from 2010-11 and 2022-23, a composite infrastructure index will be created through principal component analysis (PCA). Time-series analysis from 1990-91 to 2023-24 will evaluate the causal relationship between infrastructure and economic development. The study employs an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to analyze the effect of public expenditure across primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors on economic growth.
