- Research topic: Dynamics of Fiscal Decentralisation in Developing Economies.
- ABSTRACT:
Decentralisation of powers from central governments to sub-national governments has attracted a lot of attention from academicians, researchers and policymakers since past few decades. It has been argued that increased decentralisation of both political and financial powers ensures the greater efficiency and economy in government functioning on one hand and added benefits in the form of economic growth ,poverty and income inequality reduction, and good governance on the other. Within the various forms of decentralisation, Fiscal decentralisation (FD) is the prime concern for economic scholarships.. This study seeks to find out the factors that drive FD and how FD affects government size and income inequality and whether it is in line with the existing theories in case of developing economies. The time period selected for this research shall be post 2000 due to availability of data on chosen variables. All work shall be carried out in a panel framework .The usage of fixed and random effects model and the calculation of parametric values will be also done through the use of Feasible generalised least squares and other methods like Generalised Method of Moments.
